Three plus eleven equals one - after UDG takeover, PIA rushes to first place in the Internet agency ranking in mathematical terms
Hamburg, 2 May 2019 - All signs point to growth and success: PIA recorded a successful financial year in 2018 and was able to increase fee revenues by 17%. Together with UDG, which was acquired at the beginning of 2019, the PIA companies achieved a fee turnover of approx. 116 million euros in 2018. This makes the PIA Group one of the largest digital service providers in Germany - with highly pleasing effects on the latest Internet agency ranking of the BVDW.
PIA and UDG still value this ranking separately, as the takeover was only completed at the beginning of the new 2019 financial year. Taken together, the two digital companies would already occupy pole position among Internet agencies. In its new list of the best, the Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (Federal Association of the Digital Economy) still leads the PIA Group in third place (behind Reply and Plan.Net). The UDG United Digital Group lands in eleventh place.
In January, PIA announced the acquisition of the UDG companies Rhein-Main, Hamburg and Ludwigsburg; in March, the group confirmed approval by the responsible antitrust authorities.
